Dr. Teta, this piece absolutely thrilled me. I get so incredibly excited when science aligns with the ancient (yet time-tested) teachings of Ayurveda. The way you wove together the heart, brain, and fascia as an integrated system of consciousness mirrors what the Vedic sages have described for millennia: that the body itself is the bridge between the seen and unseen.
Your articulation of coherence as both a measurable physiological state and a sacred language of the field is stunning. It’s rare to see this kind of scientific clarity and reverence for the mystery in one breath.
Thank you for bringing this conversation forward with such precision and heart. It’s work like this that helps translate timeless wisdom into a form the modern world can understand and feel.
This is interesting because I was working on an idea where the universe operates as a unitary organism-like entity with cell-like properties. Rather than emerging from a brane collision event, the universe exists as an integrated system with internal organization principles similar to biological cells:
-Membrane Boundaries: Just as cells have membranes, this universe model has boundaries that separate it from whatever might exist "outside" - though these boundaries may be informational rather than strictly physical.
Internal Structures: Like cellular organelles, the universe contains distinct functional components (galaxies, star systems, planets) that serve specific purposes within the larger system.
Consciousness emerges as a natural extension of the memory-building process, not as an accidental byproduct.
Complex conscious systems (like humans) participate directly in the universe's knowledge accumulation.
The "hard problem" of consciousness may be addressed by recognizing experience as fundamental rather than emergent.
Suggests that information processing and experience are intrinsic to reality at all scales.
Really love this thought Woods. I see this along similar lines. I like to think of us as leading edge extensions of universal consciousness.... our experiences contribute to the collective.... it is the way "source" experiences itself and evolves. I do think however that when we violate universal principles of holism, integratiion and inclusivity we stifle universal expansion and wisdom and when we are in alignment with it we not only grow ourselves but we contribute to universal evolution.
Keep in mind Doc that I know that I'm just smart enough to know how stupid I am. I share my ideas, most times I have no clue if I'm onto something or not. Anyway thank you for considering them.
This piece gave me goosebumps reading it. It is what I have experienced personally in my own healing and awakening journey. Gratitude, gentle yoga, breath, sound, expressing my emotions, all of them, are what made everything start to fall into place for me. Even if the world around me is in chaos, I know I can come home to and find shelter within myself.
when you described the interplay of heart, brain and fascia as tuning the field of reality, I felt the echo of a deeper question: what if the heart is not only sending but also quietly listening, attuning itself to the unseen waves of consciousness that ripple through us?
This brings language to what so many of us intuit — that the body isn’t a machine but a messenger of the field. Thank you for bridging science and spirit with such clarity.
"It’s why ideas hit you in the shower or on a walk, never when you’re trying too hard. The brain finally stops gripping, the filter drops, and the field gets through."
Yes… the body, a miraculous creation… created from a superior intelligence. Life, Love, Being. A life time of understanding… and experiencing. A miracle unfolding with every breath given. A joyous celebration… an avalanche of gratitude… that we are, we can understand… we can be, we can celebrate… the pure miracle of Life.
Loved this article! I am experiencing Myofascial Release currently because I lost my voice. I went through a bunch of testing and everything came back ok except I was diagnosed with MTD ( muscle, tension, dysphonia- tight vocal cords). I was intuitively led to this practice. I’m astounded by the tightness and stiffness in my fascia. Decades of holding it all in and not wanting to face my CPTSD from a traumatic childhood. I’m seeing an improvement but it takes time. Again thanks for sharing this. Because our bodies really are the gateway to healing. Oh and one last thing, I love the hum of the world around me when I sit in silence. It’s a magical connection that is available anytime anywhere we are.
We are on the same frequency. Nice to meet you and great overview of fascia. I would love to connect and trade notes on coherence. It took me the last 10 years to embody it. Finally get it now.
I feel I don't need to discover anything outside of myself, only recognize what already lives within me. Fascia breathes with my thoughts, listens to my words,
and moves with my intention.
For me, that is the Law that lives within me the language of vibration, of love that listens.
I appreciate that you concluded this essay with some practical steps (and I also appreciate the preceding information, too): Breathing - I'm starting your recommended breathing exercise as part of my daily bike ride and maybe more often such as before bed; Somatic Flow - I have been doing a daily ten-minute stretching and light weight-lifting routine for years which has produced very satisfying results in how I look and feel; Generate Emotional Coherence - At certain times on my daily bike ride when I am facing the sun on a sunny day I feel the coherence that you describe and it makes me feel tremendously grateful and appreciative for the wonderful blessings of every day life. I love the uplifting tone of your essays. I added you to the Health and Fitness section of my blog:
